We gather to honor and celebrate the inspiring life of Adolf Hermann Ulbrich, who will be cherished and remembered through the legacy of his loving family and friends. Born in Germany in 1938 as the second youngest of eight children, Adolf's journey began with an apprenticeship and training as a baker and pastry chef. His passion and talent for the culinary arts took him around the globe, ultimately bringing him to the United States.
Adolf's American journey began in Texas, where he married his first wife, Willimina. During his time in Texas, he served in the US Army, honing his skills as a personal baker and pastry chef to many high-ranking officers. In 1965, Adolf and his wife moved to Las Vegas to begin their family and establish his illustrious career.
For several decades, Adolf was the head pastry chef at many of the notable Las Vegas hotels, where he showcased his incredible pastry skills and delighted many with his delicious treats. His later adventures took him to California, where he designed and oversaw desserts for Disneyland. This journey culminated in the fulfillment of his lifelong dream—opening his own bakery, Chef Adolf's Bakery.
Adolf leaves behind his second wife, Selma (McKimmey), and his daughter, Karen. He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Karl and sister-in-law, Mylene. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Willimina; his daughter, Gwen; his granddaughter, Rose; six of his siblings, and several of their spouses.
Adolf's legacy is a testament to his passion, dedication, and love for his craft and family. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
