Brenda Joyce Kennedy White was born on August 24, 1953. In River Rouge, Michigan to her parents Robert Calvin Kennedy and Lillie Bell Decree Kennedy. Brenda was the second oldest child of six children. Preceded in death by both parents, her husband Mr. Henry Lee White, daughters Marlena White, Princess Annette White Moffett, son Deon Kennedy, grandson Ulysses Trenell Jr (Man), and siblings Maryann Lofton Brim, Angie Jenkins, Sandra Williams, and Bobby Calvin Kennedy Jr.


Fondly known as Brown Suga, was educated through the Detroit Public School system. She attended Jay Jr middle school and Barbra County High School. She loved home economics, dance, reading and math classes. After completion of High School she continued her education at Lafayette Academy of Nursing. Brown Suga gave her life to Christ at an early age and became a member of House of prayer and praise church.


On November 24, 1971, Brown Suga met her Husband Mr. Henry White better known as ST. They were married in December 24, 1971. They were inseparable and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting together. They shared beautiful homes together as Brown Suga would often redesign their homes to create luxury, warm and a loving environment. Unfortunately before all their dreams could materialize the love of her life passed away on August 22, 2001.


Most importantly Brown Suga enjoyed visiting old friends, giving her assistance to those in need, and storytelling about unforgettable moments. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals, celebrating holidays, caring for family, earning income, family gatherings, dancing, taking care of others and visiting casinos.


Special mention to Mr. Tommy Lee Echoles, he was a second joy of her life. A dear friend who she cared about very much.


Brown Suga also wanted to acknowledge her friend Richard. A very close and dear friend who would pray for her in times of need. Thank you for being apart of her life.


Brown Suga leaves to cherish her baby sister Kimberly Dorsey, brother in law Spokean and Barney, daughters Angela Joyce White Collier, I’Esha Gisele White Bookrum, Pastor Patricia Brown - Taylor, son in law James Collier, Jeremey Bookrum, Tarrence Thomas, Aaron Moffett, Ulysses Trenell, Micheal Sutton jr and Roy Sutton.


Stepchildren include Shannon Roberson, Wilma Roberson, Fransilla Hines, Teddy Hines, Chiz Tucker, Teal Hudson, Dwayne Hudson.


Grandchildren include: Ebony Rhodes, Shahbaz Edwards, Kandi, Shanetta, Victoria, Chachi, Christina, Juanita, Shannon Jr, Kierra, Jasmine, Precious and Kwame Robinson, Mary and Alphonso Wynn, Jeanie, Jalelo, Te’Angela (Ra), Jr (Annalise), Jay, Sema’J and Ka’Myah.


Great grandchildren include: RJ, I’Keya, Elijah, Heaven, Kyvion, Jamani, Princess Alyiah, D’Meiyah, Jakyi, Jae’anna, Messiah, Nova, Kyari King, Xaiver, Treshun, Lyric and Javon and a host of family and friends.
