We honor and celebrate the Inspiring Life of DEVANTE’ TIERE BURKS. Devante’ will be cherished and remembered through the legacy of his family and friends.

LIFE REFLECTIONS:

Devante Tiere Burks was born on August 16, 1994, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to the parents Renee Lee and Cedric Burks. He entered this world at Women’s Hospital, marking the beginning of a life filled with adventure and a thirst for knowledge. At the young age of 5, Devante became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he actively participated in church activities and was baptized by Pastor Richardson. He continued to grow and learn, attending Doris Reed Elementary, Brinley Middle School, and Bishop Gorman High, where he graduated in 2012. Devante’s life was a tapestry of diverse interests and passions. He embraced various sports and extracurricular activities, including meditation, Zen, football, basketball, karate, soccer, music, and dance. His love for music led him to join the music group Raw Material, where he expressed his creativity through beat making and writing.

Despite his deep love for music, Devante’s cousin, Durrel Webb, introduced him to stagehand work, a field where Devante truly excelled. He became a valued member of IATSE Local 720, and other companies where he demonstrated his dedication and hard work for over 10 years. Devante was in the process of becoming a stage manager, a position that would have allowed him to further demonstrate his mantra, “No Excuses.”

Devante’s untimely passing has left a void in the lives of his loved ones. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for music, and his dedication to his craft. Devante leaves behind a legacy of hard work, determination, and a love for life that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Devante Tiere Burks departed this life for a new journey with a higher power on March 22, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, compassion, jokes, and a warm heart of forgiveness. Devante will be forever cherished by his mother Renee Lee, father Cedric Burks, stepfather Clem, sisters Destiny, Laurel, Aaliyah, Kiki, brothers Marky, CJ, grandmothers Barbara and Anita, uncles Robert, Ronald, Reginald, aunts Rachel, Delois, Edna, Kim, Anita, Angie, Barbara, Kita, Robbie, cousins Frenisha, Marquitta, Ky, Dominque, Durrel, Dervon, and a host of other family and friends.
