We honor and celebrate the Inspiring Life of DONALD RODGERS. Born on August 30, 1979, at Camp Pendleton in California, Donald was the second among nine siblings and had a deeply rooted love for his family and life.
Throughout his journey, Donald's light shone brightly, touching the hearts of everyone he encountered. He had a knack for brightening up any room and spreading joy effortlessly. His love for good food was evident, often seen clearing out the fridge for leftovers or enjoying a hearty pot of greens – a dish he cherished deeply.
Donald's passion for life extended to his sons Aver and Auggie, whom he was immensely proud of, especially admiring their accomplishments in baseball and soccer. As a loving tradition, his mother would prepare lasagna for him and his Virgo brothers every year, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.
A proud Gulf War veteran who served in the Army, Donald faced both highs and lows with resilience and strength. However, amidst any challenges, he always extended a helping hand, an encouraging word, and a place to stay for those in need.
Donald had a special place in his heart for hip-hop music, particularly E-40, and never failed to connect with others through his love for music. Donald's warm spirit ensured that he never met a stranger – his kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
He leaves behind his beloved mother Reva L Jones Thompson, father Isaac R Thomas Sr., siblings Isaac R Thomas Jr., Keith Lee, Emmanuel E Jones, Mark L Lee, Kevin T Lee, Antwann R Lee, Nieshia Nichols, and Roniesha P J Lee. He is also remembered fondly by his godparents William and Annie Rodgers, god sister Jessica Rodgers, god brother Raynard Rogers, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
As we bid farewell to Donald, let us carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. Fly high dear Donald and may your light continue shining bright in our hearts forever. You will be deeply missed but always remembered with love.
