Engelbert Armin "Bert" Hauber, 78, passed away peacefully on the 23rd of November, 2025, at the Blessed Hope Care Home in Las Vegas, NV. Born on the 17th of December, 1946, in Langen, Austria, Bert was the son of Frieda Keck and Franz Xaver Hauber.
Bert was a man of many talents and interests. His educational journey led him to become an apprentice in television and radio repair, a skill that served him well throughout his life. His dedication and technical prowess were later put to use during his service as a radar technician in the German Air Force. After completing his military career, he returned to school and obtained an Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology and worked for Messerschmitt. After returning to the United States, his career took a significant turn when he joined Hewlett-Packard/Agilent, where he spent a fulfilling tenure building precision measuring equipment. Beyond his professional life, Bert was an avid outdoorsman who loved skiing and hiking. Not only did he conquer a 2-week backcountry hike through the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, but he also shared his passion for skiing with others as a disabled skiing instructor. His love for running was often accompanied by the joy of camaraderie with his friends. Bert was also a longtime volunteer with the Knights of Columbus at St John the Evangelist in Loveland, CO, embodying their principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. His dedication to service was a testament to his character. Quiet, kind, patient, positive, and supportive, Bert was a beacon of calmness and a pillar of strength for his family and friends. His positivity was infectious, and his support was unwavering.
Bert is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine Margaret Hauber; his daughter, Tanja Rae Scherm and her partner, Gary James Geracci; his cherished granddaughter, Isabella Marie Scherm and Gary's son Justin Rocco Geracci. His son, Thorsten Michael Hauber, preceded him in death.
