IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry
Lyman
October 7, 1946 – February 5, 2026
Jerry Lyman, 79, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength that will be felt by all that knew and loved him. It is with great sadness that we announce his passing, and with deep gratitude that we share the life of a man who will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on October 7, 1946, in Anchorage, Alaska, Jerry grew up with the rugged beauty of Alaska shaping both his character and his love for fishing. He graduated from West High School in 1964 and carried with him the steady determination and work ethic that would define his life. In 1979, Jerry made Las Vegas his home, where he spent the remainder of his years building a life rooted in family, friendships, and service to others.
Jerry was a proud and capable businessman who owned a successful contracting and consulting company. He took great pride in his work and in providing for those he loved. Even after becoming disabled, his drive never faded—he remained a thinker, a teacher, and a source of guidance. Jerry had a gift for lifting others up. He loved mentoring and guiding people, especially those closest to him, and he truly never met a stranger. His warmth and unconditional love made people feel welcomed, and his generosity was constant—he was always loving, always giving.
Above all else, Jerry loved his family. He was creative and thoughtful, with a passion for writing books and poetry. Through his words, he shared parts of his heart and mind that will continue to speak for him now and for future generations to enjoy.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Francie Henry; his daughter, Shawn Gilman; his step-daughter, Davia Worden; his grandsons Shane Phillips, Justin Phillips, Cody Phillips, Alex Phillips, Levi English, and Gaige Phillips; his granddaughter Aspen Phillips; his great-grandson Jonas English; and his cousin, Sandra Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Lyman; daughter Shara Lyman, his parents, Frank Lyman and Ruth Ellis; his sister, Carol Chapel; and several close family friends whom he held dear.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 21, 2026, at the Mirabelli Community Center in Las Vegas from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A private family spreading of ashes will take place later this year.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Summerlin Hospital and Marquis Centennial Hills Skilled Nursing Facility for their compassionate, attentive care and the kindness shown to Jerry and his loved ones.
Jerry’s love, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed—but the stories, lessons, and memories he leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and keep his spirit close.
