Josue Acedillo was born August 14, 1946 to the parents of Jose and Digna Acedillo. He was third of seven siblings. A devoted Catholic. Many know him by Joey Acedillo Sr. At the age of 78 years, he passed away on May 8th 2025 in Las Vegas Nevada.
Joey was a hard working man. Having obtained a variety of certificates in engineering, electrical, and mechanical work. However he found fulfillment in his career as a mechanic/electrician. Putting himself into work and fixing miscellaneous items provided passion in his life.
As a seafarer/merchant mariner most of his days and nights were spent at sea. His work ethics was above all. Although he had to leave his family behind for long periods of time; his dedication to support his family kept him motivated and determined to persevere. Being out in the ocean waters was his calling. He loved being out there, enjoying both the cool and summer sea breeze that made him feel free and relaxed. During those times he befriended the sea and found joy with fishing. Taking every opportunity his job provided, he was able to travel and gain a lifetime’s worth of experiences. He also enjoyed singing karaoke. Singing his heart out, sharing his joy amongst his loved ones. With the Sunday papers you would see Joey spending countless hours playing sudoko with his coffee. Playing chess was one of his hobbies as well. Every now and then you could see him play competitively against his siblings. He enjoyed activities that kept the mind active.
Joey is survived by his wife Lisa of over 30 years; his children, JR, Jim & Leonor, his siblings Delia, Butch, Josef, Jessie& Joel, and many nieces & nephews & countless relatives.
