An Inspiring Life Worth Celebrating:
Joseph Treadwell Jr. was born June 26th, 1947 in Brighton, Alabama to Joseph Treadwell Sr. And Zora Treadwell. Moving from Alabama to Las Vegas, Nevada at an early age Joe went on to graduate from Rancho High school. Shortly after graduation Joe would join the Military (ARMY) where he served two years, earning a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. After an honorable discharge, Joe started a long career with Centel Telephone Company where he worked 30+ years before retirement. Joe was a simple man, who found joy in simple things like his cars (Joe loved his cars) and his shrimp-fried rice (with extra green onions and hot chili oil). Joe would polish and wax his cars until he couldn’t polish and wax anymore. Even in his advanced years, he polished and waxed until he was no longer able. Joe loved his cars so much that he kept everything he loved most in the trunk of his car. As Joe started to slow down his love and attention were on his family; especially his grandchildren. Joe loved his grandchildren and would do whatever he could to make sure they knew. Joe would brag about their smarts and accomplishments to whoever would listen. In his last days, Joe found peace in watching Sports and Judge Judy….oh yeah, and ordering from infomercials. Joe would order gadgets and vitamins to never use them; that’s just what he loved to do. As stated before, Joe was a simple man; a stylish, loving, caring, compassionate simple man, and it’s certain that all of us as a blended family are going to miss Popz, The Simple Man.
Proceeding him in death are his parents Zora Treadwell and Joseph Treadwell Sr., brothers Lathian Treadwell and Reginald Treadwell, and son Joseph (Pete) Treadwell III
He leaves to mourn his children Brandon Anderson, Ricky Bass, Kevin Treadwell, Zori Treadwell, and Derrick Treadwell, all of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a host of grandchildren; Two Brothers: Larry Treadwell and Ronald Treadwell of Las Vegas, Nevada; four sisters: Penny Treadwell, Linda Treadwell-Ward, Gloria Treadwell, and Geraldine Floyd all of Las Vegas, Nevada; a special friend Camelia Moreland and extended family Lee “AJ” Anselm, Drashaone “Shaone” Wimberly and Charon McKenzie.
