We honor and celebrate the Inspiring Life of JOY VO. Joy will be remembered and cherished through the legacy of her family and friends.

Joy Vo

Age 56

Born November 11, 1965 in Ho Chi Minh City (then Saigon), Vietnam

Died in Summerlin, Nevada on April 10, 2022

Joy, who lived in Summerlin Nevada, died of surgery complications in the Summerlin Hospital.

Joy grew up selling fried plantains to US soldiers during the Vietnam war, she even remembered them giving her M&Ms. They took her father to jail just for being a police officer in Ho Chi Minh City, it was a difficult time for their family.  She dreamed of moving to America and did so in 1999, pursuing the American Dream for herself and her children. Joy brought her daughters to the US in 2004, Jolyn Vo age 35 and Jacklynh Vo age 28.

Joy was a business owner of Joy’s Nails in downtown Imlay City, Michigan from 2001 to 2021 when she sold the business and moved to Nevada to continue her entrepreneurial ventures by opening a salon in the affluent community of Summerlin, Nevada with her daughter and now business partner.

Joy was very proud that her family all became US citizens during a heartfelt ceremony in downtown Detroit in 2012, achieving her quest of the American dream.

Joy is survived by her husband Phong (46)  and her two daughters Jolyn Vo of Summerlin, Nevada and Jacklynh Vo in Orlando, Florida. Her Mother Ngoc, and sisters, Thu and Thuy, still live in Ho Chi Minh City.

Joy’s favorite saying was to always “Live, Love and Laugh” which she did every day until her last day. Rest Peace our beautiful Joy.
