Millicent
Highsmith
June 9, 1970 – April 13, 2026
INSPIRED LIFE MEMORIALS AT SUMMERLIN
12:00 - 2:00 pm (Pacific time)
Millicent Highsmith, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of service, passion, and inspiration. Millicent was born to Robert Highsmith and Brenda Dyann Murphy Highsmith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Highsmith. She leaves to cherish memory her loving mother, Brenda Highsmith; her brothers, Darius “Marc” Highsmith Sr. (Patricia “Vicki” Highsmith) and Roderick Highsmith (Deonca Highsmith); her cherished nieces and one nephew: Ravyn and Darius Highsmith II, McKayla, McKenzy, and McKenna “Riley” Highsmith; as well as uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and coworkers.
Millicent was a woman of determination and growth. She earned her degree in Finance from Prairie View A&M University, but her true passion led her to take a bold step when she moved to Las Vegas to study culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu. After graduating, Millicent’s dreams began to take shape, and she was soon hired at NeuroRestorative, where she dedicated over 17 years to serving others.
Her love for cooking went beyond just talent; it was her way of expressing love. The kitchen became her space of joy, creativity, and connection. She had a special gift for bringing people together with her meals, making every experience not just a feast for the body, but also for the heart. Her service to others was never just a profession; it was her calling.
Millicent dedicated much of her career to serving others. She worked for the Veterans Affairs office in the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) office in Leavenworth, Kansas. In her role as Regional Dietary Director and Housekeeping Supervisor at NeuroRestorative, she led with compassion, excellence, and a servant’s heart, making a profound impact on both colleagues and the individuals she served.
Though Millicent was often quiet to those around her, when she spoke, it was with assertiveness, knowledge, and authority. She provided the grounding for each of her nieces and one nephew, instilling life lessons that they will continue to carry with them throughout their lives. Her wisdom became an inheritance that they will share with their families for generations to come. Millicent was present at every family event, celebration, and accomplishment, always making sure that everyone felt loved and valued. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were the heart of the family.
To know Millicent was to know warmth, strength, and authenticity. She had a quiet yet powerful way of showing up for others with love, consistency, and grace.
