Paul Valenti 1938 - 2025
Paul Valenti, 86, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. Born on December 12, 1938, in Sicily, Italy, Paul was the beloved son of the late Paolo and Sebastiana Valenti.
In 1949 at the age of eleven, Paul immigrated to the United States aboard the Queen Frederica, settling with his family in Paterson, New Jersey. Together with his brothers, he went on to open Valenti’s Bakery, a cherished local establishment he proudly co-owned until his retirement in 2004. His work ethic, craftsmanship, and dedication to his community were evident in every loaf of bread, every cake design, and every early morning spent in the bakery.
Paul was a man whose life centered around family. He is survived by his children; Cheri Valenti-Foisy and Michael & Amy Valenti; his son in law Charles Bogert; his grandchildren Jessica Shinn, Veronica Valenti, Danielle Dapello, Paulette Foisy, Jonathan Bogert, Stephen Bogert, Nicole Valenti, and Alyssa Joachim; and his great-grandchildren Carolina Lee, Franklin Shinn, Matthew Shinn, Anna Marie Valenti, Dominic Valenti, Giovani Valenti, Anthony Dapello, Nicholas Dapello, Aliyah Bogert, and Caden Bogert. Nothing brought him more joy than gathering with his family, sharing stories, laughter, and the warmth of togetherness.
Paul was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara Valenti; his son Paul Valenti and daughter Noelle Bogert; his brothers Carmelo and Joseph Valenti; and his sisters Angelina Mangiafico and Carmelina Tommasi.
After retiring, Paul enjoyed many peaceful years in Las Vegas and Florida, savoring the slower pace of life. He loved planting flowers, baking, and beginning (or ending) his days with a cup—or several—of espresso in the company of those he loved. Known for his endless proverbs, wit, and gentle wisdom, Paul shared his life lessons freely with anyone willing to listen.
Paul leaves behind a legacy built on love, devotion, resilience, and family unity. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and cherished him.
A private Celebration of Life service is planned for Sunday, January 11, 2026. More specific details will be provided by the family at a later time.
Additionally, please sign the digital guestbook below to leave a loving message, positive memory, order flowers, or plant a tree in honor of Paul.
