Protégé Jean Paul, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and family matriarch, was born on May 2, 1938, in Bassin-Bleu, Haiti, to Estera and Fedelan Jean Paul. On her final journey home, she is reunited in heaven with her cherished children Eudoxie, Watson, Abraham, Alezi Mentor and many loved ones who went before her.
Protégé leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unconditional love. She is survived by her devoted children, Chimene and Jackson, and by the grandchildren who brought her endless joy: Nadege, Patrick, Billy and his wife Denada, Kanesha and her husband Tory, Ebens, Jefferson, Acheline, Issena, Natanaelle, and Provenson. Her love extended even further to her precious great-grandchildren: Dior, Devine, Gandy, Daiyani, Tory Jr., Brycen, and Toussaint.Raised in Haiti, Protégé carried the heart of her homeland everywhere she went. In her 50s, she courageously began a new chapter in the United States to reunite with her daughter and grandchildren. In Miami, she became a trusted caregiver, offering child care to hardworking Haitian families who depended on her warmth, reliability, and wisdom.Protégé will always be remembered for her beautiful spirit and her no-nonsense attitude- honest, strong, and full of love. She was a gifted cook whose delicious dishes brought family and friends together. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she filled the season with laughter, stories, and joy. If she wasn’t chatting with friends on the phone, you could find her shopping with her daughter or sharing stories with her grandchildren, teaching them lessons they will carry forever.Though all may not be named here, Protégée was a mother to 11 children and a nurturer to countless others. Her advice, her confidence, and her enormous heart shaped the lives of everyone blessed to know her.Protégé Jean Paul leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering faith.
