THE INSPIRING LIFE OF RAYMOND CUTLER

Raymond Gene Cutler Jr was born June 4,1949 in St Louis, MO to the late Raymond Gene Cutler Sr and Marceline Thedora Campbell.

He spent his early years in East St Louis, IL and Indianapolis, IN moving to Denver, CO in his elementary years where he accepted Christ at the age of 12 in the St Stephen Missionary Baptist Church.  Knowing Jesus and the St Stephen religious education and fellowship, the Denver Public Schools through East High along with a loving caring family shaped Raymond into the gentle caring loving man he became.

His gentle persuasion led him to meet wife Donna his lovely devoted caring companion of over 31 years in Las Vegas, NV.  They settled in her hometown Bakersfield, CA where they gratefully participated in the raising of his children, their daughter Destiny, and their devoted nieces and nephews.  There he also continued his education in Bakersfield Community College.

Raymond enlisted in the Army at a time when there was a dire need an urgent call to arms during the Viet Nam war which proved to be a detriment to his young yet developing body exposed to Agent Orange and other hazards of war.

A highly skilled truck driver who owned his own trucking business Raymond spent many years before retirement up and down the California coast and on occasion across country.  Upon retirement with failing health Raymond moved his family back to Nevada.

Reflecting back on his life Raymond felt eternally blessed with God fearing people who shared in the rearing of his seven children two of which, Antione and Julian preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn wife Donna children Adrian, Tracee, Courtney, Raymond, and Destiny, Mother Marceline, sister Pamela, brother Rodney, many other family and friends.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,

That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand;

The angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above,

And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home,

for God looked down, smiled at me, And told me “Welcome Home.”

So when tomorrow starts without me.  Don’t think we’re far apart;

For every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.

They Say

They say I’m sorry for your loss

They say your heart will mend

They say you’re in a better place,

And death is not the end.

They say you’re reunited

With loved ones gone before,

They say that you’ll be waiting

When I walk through heavens door.

I feel their love in every word

Of comfort they impart,

And know that each is spoken

From deep within the heart.

But all the words of comfort,

Through kind, sincere, and true,

Can’t take away the emptiness

I’m feeling without you.
