Vincent Dempsey

December 15, 1945 – May 17, 2022

We honor and celebrate the Inspiring Life of VINCENT CHARLES DEMPSEY. Vincent will be cherished and remembered through the legacy of his family and friends.

Vincent Charles Dempsey was born in Washington New Jersey on December 15, 1945 to John and Blanche Dempsey.  He had three siblings all since deceased, Joan, John and Tony. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Tharin Wendell, Kathy Nalty, Andrew Dempsey, John Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, Debbie Engleking and Mark Dempsey.  Vincent moved to California to attend and eventually graduated from Cal State Hayward, started law school and was then drafted and joined the Army.  After basic training he was then deployed to Vietnam and reached the rank of Sergeant before being discharged.   Upon his return from Vietnam he tried going back to Law School  however he did not finish as the Vietnam war left him changed forever with the unseen scars of PTSD.  At this point he started his corporate career with a company called Burroughs selling business equipment that moved him first to Sacramento and then later to Reno.  He was briefly married and then worked a while for Motorola selling 2-way radios.  After his divorce he shifted his career to Gaming in Reno, then Elko and ultimately settled in Las Vegas where he eventually retired. Vince was an avid Toast Master, Master Scuba Diver, dog lover and world traveler, very social and full of life. He spent his last several years living in a wonderful group home with caregivers who were like family to him. He passed away peacefully on the morning of May 17, 2022.
In lieu of flowers he would be proud if you donated to K9’s for Warriors in his name.
